Laminar Spatial Mixing Layers - Plate Thickness = 1 mm

Mixing Layer Research

Conducted computational fluid dynamics research on laminar spatially-developing mixing layers using ANSYS Fluent, analyzing flow development and spatial mixing behavior over various cases. Mixing layer growth was measured using velocity contours and vorticity thickness plots.

Triton Droids at UCSD

Improved upon the design for the torso of a humanoid robot, focusing on the upper torso module. The open cage design is comprised of several T-slotted frames, joined by anchor connectors, along with a custom shoulder joint to house a pair of RobStride 03 motors.

Wing Pressure Study

Analyzed the pressure distribution over a wing to model the lift and drag forces acting on the wing. A mesh study was conducted to ensure the accuracy of results while optimizing computational resources. Results were used to validate the lift and drag performance of the wing.

CFD Algorithm Development

Developed a custom CFD algorithm via MATLAB to simulate the propagation of a Mach wave over a flat plate at speeds of Mach 4. The algorithm was validated against theoretical results and used to analyze the behavior of the Mach wave under various conditions.
